October 6 is known as the National Mad Hatter day when people celebrate the craziest character from Alice in Wonderland. The crazy fun fact about the character is that you know him by his oversized hat, colorful eyes, and his 10/6 style to read.
History of Mad Hatter’s day:
In 1986, some computer folks in Boulder started to celebrate a day of craziness and caused a little mayhem. Their motive was to experience the happiness of being silly. The word mad Hatter’s day is from the phrase Mad as a hatter, which is referred to as a crazy person. In 1988, it became an official national day, and since then, people are celebrating it.
Moreover, in the 18th and 19th centuries, some people used to manufacture big hats had to expose themselves to metal traces. The mercury poisoning caused a lot of workers dementia, and that explains the big hat concept in this celebration and the movie.
